North Arm Project
The Subud Sunshine Coast Group wanted to create a space for their weekly spiritual practice.
They found a beautiful property nestled in the Noosa Hinterland that suited their needs with sheds that could be converted into halls and an existing house that could be the main centre for the group.
The brief was to add a west wing (Guest Quarters) to the existing dwelling to accommodate interstate and international visits from all over the world whom will be visiting and staying at the spiritual centre. The existing dwelling was a bit outdated and in much need of a more modern look that also needed to blend in with the new guest quarters to create the impression of one large centre that can be shared by many at any given time. To house as many extra people (thus two extra large bedrooms and a lounge room that can be converted into another bedroom) as possible in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
The centre has a hybrid system that generates most of their power, there is no need for air conditioning as there is plenty of insulation in walls and roof cavity, ceiling fans and louvre windows also help keep a comfortable temperature in the centre. There are many inside & outside areas where one can relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty of the natural surrounding environment.
With the generous help and experience from philanthropist Renee Goetz who is now a permanent resident on the property the project was a real delight to work on and everything went like clockwork.
“We have been very happy to have chosen Steve Campbell Design to create an extension to the existing home on our property. Steve incorporates eco friendly and sustainable designs as well as using feng shui to create harmony within the house. We have been very pleased at the quality of the finished product, it looks and feels amazing. What was put on paper as the design exceeded our expectations in the creation of something we shall enjoy for many years to come, it certainly has the WOW factor. Steve was very easy to work with and very patient with our changes to the original plans.”

Maroochydore Investment Property
This investment property has been upgraded to a more modern looking, user friendly family home, by opening up the north side of the house to the view and the winter sunlight. Steve Campbell Design along with the clients and builder worked closely together to transform the old rundown home into a light, airy, free flowing spacious new home that came in on time and under budget. The house was rented out as soon as construction was finished.
“After being personally referred to Steve Campbell of Sacred Place Building Designs, we were
delighted with the experience. Steve is a thoughtful, consultative and engaging professional who clearly takes pride in bringing concepts to life. Even down to maximising aspects, breeze, light and feng shui.
Additionally, unlike many others in the industry, he assisted greatly in working with engineers and
the Council Approval to avoid unnecessary bureaucracy and delays. We can’t recommend him highly enough”.

Eumundi Queenslander Extension
The challenge here was to marry the new extension with the existing beautiful Queenslander style cottage home. Luckily, the owner builder Josef was more than capable of pulling it off having had lots of previous experience with home renovations and it was the attention to detail that really made the difference. With the new master bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe you cannot tell between the old and new, now the owners are planning a west wing on the expanding cottage.
Sunroom in Noosa Heads
The existing tiled terrace, which was under used, was enclosed to create a comfortable sunroom that is enjoyed regularly now. By using exposed timbers and internal timber lining this gave the room a more relaxed atmosphere that was different to the rest of the modern interior.
New Master Bedroom & Ensuite in Doonan
Extension of main bedroom, adding new ensuite and sitting room that blended in with the existing home but opened up with large glazing to take in the amazing view to the coast. Now the clients can relax in the new bathtub and take in the breathtaking views that they paid so much money for.
